Once you have claimed your Google my Business online real estate, it’s important to have all of the information that you are going to need to complete your profile.
Find and Manage Your Business
This is where you can start searching for your business. If you find it in the search bar, you will be able to get started right away on making edits to your page.
But, if you can’t find it – you will have to create your listing from scratch and verify your business with google.
The second option is where most people are at with their Google my Business page when they come to me.
[Click next if you are following along].
Now you enter your business address. As in the physical location. Google my Business is used in Search and Maps. So this location will show up on the right hand side of searchers browsers as YOUR physical address. You probably don’t want to use your home address, but maybe a co-working space, or your physical box office.
If you service your customers at other locations (maybe you deliver or provide a service or are in multiple locations) make sure you have checked I deliver goods and services to my customers.
Search for a business category. And then you can choose a more specific category.
Enter your email, phone number and your URL (website) to complete this first step.
After all of this has been entered, you now wait for Google to mail you a verification code and then you can complete your profile.
It is really important to complete that first step – and you are providing some important information. You are giving your customer a great experience. You are telling them all about your business – in a one screen snapshot on google.
You want your business to have a lot of findability. Completing your google my business page is one of your first steps.
