A Facebook Business page is a great tool to use to promote your business and engage with your audience. Whether you have been in business for a long time or are just starting out – it’s important to claim that social real estate while you can.
And I am talking about Facebook BUSINESS MANAGER. It is different from the native Facebook platform, Business Manager is a Facebook Business tool that helps to organize and manage your business. [Source: Facebook]
And you want to make sure that you are the owner/admin of your business page. You would need to log into your personal Facebook account in order to create the page, and that makes sure that YOU are the owner and admin of the page. This is Facebook’s way of verifying that you are a real person, and then they assume that you are a real business
Now remember, if you are not legit – and people complain, Facebook will shut you down. So, just claim pages that are your own business.
Once you have the page, and are the admin you can now add people and pages as much as you like. One more thing to note is that your page, and your users, and your ad account are all considered assets. So, you are adding assets to your users. That will make more sense once you are inside Business Manager trying to add things.
If you weren’t the one to create your page, as long as you can be added as an admin – you should be able to do whatever anyone else can do. But, you can’t always claim back the page with your personal account.
You can either create a new business manager (with a different name) or try deleting the original owner and just having yourself as an admin. I have had instances where either one has worked.
It is so important to own (or claim back) your online real estate. This is sometimes your only way to communicate with your audience. Make sure that you own the digital real estate to whatever platform(s) your brand is on.
